7/13/24 Front Range Farm Tour

Learn about each animal, including cows, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, guineas, bees, and a miniature donkey!

7/27/24 Crown Mushroom Tour

Guided tour of a mushroom farm facility to see how they grow oyster mushrooms.

8/3/24 Pounding Flowers, Art in the Garden

In this all ages, hands-on workshop, you will learn to transfer color to paper and cotton fibers by pounding flowers with a hammer.

8/17/24 Tree Walk at Pioneer Park

Tree tour with discussion of tree identification, tree selection and tree care.

9/14/24 Simple Handcrafted Condiments

Join us as we share samples, recipes, and techniques to make your own sauces and create new family traditions!

9/28/24 Dehydrating & Freezing the Harvest

Whether you grow your own veggies and fruits or source them locally, you can create tasty additions to your diet with simple methods.

10/12/24 Make Your Own Jerky

Learn techniques that can be applied to most meat, including a demonstration from the wife of a Colorado hunter.

10/26/24 Creating Fabulous Jams & Jellies

Join us as we share samples and recipes on how to create homemade jams and jellies.

Berthoud Local aims to extend educational opportunities to the community on local food production, food preservation, and many other topics related to gardening and food independence.


We are always open to more ideas, and would love your help in continuing to expand our education program!  

 

Our Educational Series gives instructors a venue to share their knowledge and promote skills for people to make/do/learn more about their local and immediate environment. Instructors are compensated. To submit a class proposal, please fill out the form below.
