Xeriscaping is not all rock and cactus!!
An indoor program will introduce the why and how of xeriscaping, followed by a tour of the Plant Select Demonstration Garden which surrounds the library building.
The “Why” will cover Colorado’s climate/weather and discussion of the water cycle in residential and urban watersheds.
The “How” will cover planning a xeric garden, including design, soil, mulch, irrigation and maintenance considerations, as well as appropriate plant selections. The concepts of active and passive water harvesting will be presented as well.
Presenter is Kathy Mitchell, a Berthoud Library Board trustee member and a Larimer County Master Gardener.
